First Entry

Well, here it is.  Everybody's got one of these bloody things ... blogs as it were.  I've even seen a cat with his own blog.  Of course, it's written by the cat's owner, but still.

Before I begin, I do want to thank you for stopping by here to read this.  Since this is my first entry, don't expect too much ... OK? :)

The title says it all, I think.  I used to be a Conservative Republican and now I'm every politician's worst nightmare ... an informed voter.

Unfortunately, the US Presidential Election has come to the point where, to run for President, you'd better be prepared to spend $100 million.  Seriously.  The Drudge Report, at some time back, said we were on our way to the first $1 billion Presidency.

Folks, I don't know about you; but $100 million would be hard enough for me.  I'm not likely to make that much in my entire lifetime ... or the one after that (if you believe in reincarnation) or the one after that ... or the one after that.

But, here we are.  This election cycle promises to be one of the worst, in my opinion.  And since this is MY blog, you're going to get my opinion. :)

But I should make a few things clear:  You are free (in fact, please DO) post your opinions and your views.  Please DO!!  I want your opinion.

But I also want you to be civil about it.  There's too much name-calling, belittling, etc going on in politics.  And, frankly, I've damn well had enough of it.

So, I'd like to keep this civil.  Feel free to disagree with what I, or others, post here.  Just do it civilly.  That's all I ask.

I'll post when the whim strikes me, but for now...nothing besides this first post.

Thanks for reading. :)
