Yes, you read that right. Turns out that Juan McAmnesty (John McCain) was actually at a rally pushing for "comprehensive immigration reform" back on 23-FEB-2006.
I've said before that I can't vote for McCain. I won't be voting for Obama, either. But if you've ever wondered why McCain had to be practically forced to mention Obama's strong ties to ACORN, now you know. Quoting from the press release:
"Miami, Florida – February 20, 2006 ― Leaders from a diverse array of sectors will hold a rally in Miami on Thursday, February 23, 2006, in support of comprehensive immigration reform in an effort to keep immigration reform at the forefront of the public debate. Leaders from both political parties, immigrant communities, labor, business, and religious organizations will gather to call on Washington to enact workable reform."
"The rally in Miami is being sponsored by the New American Opportunity campaign (NAOC) in partnership with ACORN, Catholic Legal Services - Archdiocese of Miami, Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center, Florida Immigrant Coalition, Miami Dade College, People for the American Way/Mi Familia Vota en Acción, Service Employees International Union, and UNITE HERE."
McCain's idea of "comprehensive" immigration reform isn't the same as mine, nor the same as most Americans, according to polls. Yes, McAmnesty, we can deport them all. We deported at least 12 million people in the 1980's, or have you forgotten? And now that the economy is in meltdown mode both here and in Mexico, guess what's going to happen? According to news reports, more people are going to be coming here (Yes, including illegally.)
If you're curious, Google away. ACORN, of course, is now reminding McAmnesty about his appearance.
I can't vote for Obama nor McAmnesty. Here's something Glenn Beck said 5-JUN-2002. (He was talking about Comcast Cable at that time, but it fits here.) He said:
"Here it is. This is not for effect, I truly believe this. The FBI run by Maxwell Smart, and the assistant being Barney Fife, would still be more competent than Comcast Cable." Now I'm going to change that to fit the current situation:
"Here it is. This is not for effect, I truly believe this. The FBI run by Maxwell Smart, and the assistant being Barney Fife, would still be more competent than either McCain or Obama."
Note to Comcast Cable: Do not sue me. I have the audio of the Glenn Beck Programme for that day. And yes, it is an accurate quote. In fact, would you like me to quote how Mr Beck opened the programme for that day?
"Hmmmmm... [singing]
Comcast sucks my Lord, Comcast sucks;
Comcast sucks my Lord, Comcast sucks.
Comcast sucks my Lord, Comcast sucks;
Oh Lord, Comcast sucks.
Thank you. Thank you very much. Be here for the next three hours with my rendition of Comcast Cable sucks!" (Words in bold italics were actually shouted.)
In case you're wondering why Mr Beck was railing against Comcast it was because they missed a few appointments to install high-speed Internet (and cable) into his house.
"They said that I wasn't even home which was strange because I had a moving truck in front of my house from 8:00 to 5:00!!" (Words in bold italics were actually shouted.)
To tie that into the election, I can't vote for McCain, despite Ms Palin being the Veep candidate. And I definitely can't vote for Mr Cult of Personality (Obama.)
