Is the Boston Globe lying?

http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/editorials/articles/2008/10/01/wasilla_made_rape_victims_pay/

The name of the article?  "Wasilla Made Rape Victims Pay."

Actually ... no.  The town's financial records (you reporters (and are you reporters or hacks at this point?) do know how to obtain these, yes?) show that no rape victim was ever charged by the town.  However, those same records show clearly that the town paid for rape kits!

"The policy so outraged the Alaska Legislature that in 2000 it passed unanimously a bill forbidding such fees."

You really need to start fact-checking.  Really.  In six separate hearings on that bill, Wasilla was never mentioned!  These are facts!  You "reporters" do know how to check these, yes?  Juneau was.  A number of other larger municipalities were.  Wasilla was not.

To be fair, there are a number of reasons why the town's financial records might not show these.  A fair reading of the facts can be found here:  http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MTM2ZWYwOTI5ZWUzZGVlMDEwNjVlOTM3ZDk5ZGEwZDk=

Just don't expect the Boston Globe to cooperate.

"It would be interesting if the Globe's omission in describing Fannon's position, and the insinuation that he wished to charge victims, rises to the level of libel."
